I’m a red-blooded American Woman, and while I was more the Dawson’s Creek/Felicity generation than the Sex and the City generation, Carrie Bradshaw taught me all that I know about shoes. I don’t think I ever would have drooled over a shoe that costs more than most people’s rent if it wasn’t for Carrie.
I mean, who could forget this famous reaction?
I’ll give you a minute to recover.
Since I’m hosting a Shoe-Fabulous event next week, (you should TOTALLY come if you are local) I’ve been thinking about shoes even more than normal (which is alot). While most people are anxious for spring to arrive so they can get back to outdoor sports or gardening, I look forward to warmer temps so I can wear open-toe shoes, ditch the tights, and break out ankles pants, loafers, and wedges. Shoes are a big part of my life and not just because I’m a fashion and style blogger, but because I like them…I like them alot. <—- did you click that? Ha!
Anywho, here are five shoes I’m currently crushing on:
1. Valentino Rockstuds – I’m starting to think that everyone [read: every blogger] has these except me. I also am well-aware that I am work-at-home mama of two small children and not exactly raking in the millions. So no, I don’t have an extra $1000 lying around to drop on a pair of shoes, but if I did, I’d buy these in neon yellow, because in my head I am totally THAT cool:
3. Perforated Leather is absolutely huge this spring, and let’s be honest – it’s hot – not temperature hot (those tiny holes let your feet breathe) I’m talking sexy-hot. If sex could turn itself into a shoe, it would look like this:
4. Sling-Back Mules are back with a vengeance and look great with anything from cutoff shorts, to maxi skirts, or jeans. Chances are this isn’t the first time this trend has made it’s way into your closet, but don’t fight the urge for an instant replay. Just enjoy wearing a heel that’s actually comfortable for once. I’m really loving this pair (also from Aldo):
5. Even though I tend to lust after the ever-practical-for-someone-chasing-a-toddler-all-day-sky-high-heel, from time-to-time flats manage to wander their way into my heart… Like these pretties from Madewell:
Gah! I want to buy them all.
I need to win the lottery.
Seriously, if you’re local and always secretly wished you could design your own pair of custom-made shoes, you have to come to my Shoe-Fabulous event next Thursday. Wine and shoes, ladies. Wine and Shoes.
PS- What shoes are you crushing on lately?
