On Sunday I attended the Peppermint Sewn Seeds fashion show at Good Luck. After last year’s show, I had high expectations and I was not disappointed. As a matter of fact, I was blown away. Here is a little snippet of what you missed:
The show opened with Peppermint’s ready to wear for Spring/Summer 2014.
Intermission included a beautifully choreographed modern dance performance by One Dance Company:
After the break it was time for one of a kind prom and wedding wear from Treasure Trove Vintage:
Then Tanvi debuted her Asher Bridal Collection complete with the most intricate and well-done wigs from World Hair. My mind was blown. I’m now contemplating a vow renewal just so I can wear one of Tanvi’s bohemian, vintage-inspired gowns. Each one was prettier than the next. I will be recommending Asher Bridal to everyone I know.
It is so refreshing to attend a local fashion event where designers are able to showcase original designs, where our creative community can come together to celebrate and support one another, where we can be reminded that we might not live in New York, or Paris, or Milan, but we do live in Rochester and we’re pretty damn awesome here too.
I walked away from Good Luck feeling refreshed and proud. Proud to be a part of Rochester’s budding independent art and fashion scene. Proud to call some of its most talented creatives my friends. And proud to have created this space to be able to share it with all of you.
Let me leave you with one more video montage of the show:
