I honestly dread anyone seeing me without foundation on. It can be so embarrassing! I have always had problems with large pores and blackheads for as long as I can remember…. and believe me when I say I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun to get rid of them. I’ve tried cheaper brands like Clean & Clear, Clearasil, Aveeno and Cetaphil to more expensive brands like Dermalogica, Cosmedix, Eminence and Glo Therapeutics. Don’t get me wrong, I do love all of those skin care lines and have a favorite product or two from each brand, but unfortunately none of them seemed to be getting rid of those nasty black dots all over my nose and chin! Through trial and error, I have narrowed down the top 5 best products that won’t break your bank and that have personally worked for me…. hopefully they will for you as well!
This product is great because you can use it as a cleanser as well as a mask! It’s creamy with tiny granules to help clear out those stubborn pores! The Salicylic Acid helps to prevent any breakouts or decongested skin. I use this as a cleanser daily and leave it on my face as a mask twice a week.
This product is heaven sent. It is an oil absorbing powder that decongests your pores and dries up any white or black heads that get in it’s way! I’ve been using this the past 2 weeks and have honestly noticed a drastic difference! To apply, just wet a cotton ball (or a q-tip if you want more of a precise application), dip it into the silver powder and rub onto the areas that need it the most. I personally do my whole nose and chin area. Let sit for about 10 minutes then wash off with a good toner or just cold water (to close up your pores). I swear you will notice a difference immediately. Once a week, I like to use a Biore Pore Strip directly after to really get the remaining crappy stuff out!
I love these little guys! Maybe I’m crazy, but there is nothing more satisfying then seeing all the crap you pull out of your nose after ripping one of these off? I know you know what I mean! Make sure you wet your nose really well with warm water then apply a strip and let sit and harden for about 10 minutes. Slowly tear away and viola! Hasta la Vista blackheads! I recommend doing this once a week to maintain clear, healthy pores.
After cleansing, I always use this toner to help shrink my pores down to a smaller size. It absorbs any access oil and controls any shine through out the day. It also exfoliates any dead skin cells left over on your skin after cleansing. Dab a small amount onto a cotton ball and apply over whole face (you do not wash this off). This product can be used daily!
Ok, I know…. Please don’t let the cost scare you! There are other companies that have dupes for the Clarisonic (which I have tried) but I’m telling you about the Clarisonic because I feel, from my personal testimony, that it works the best! The Mia is much smaller than the original one, which is great for women who travel a lot like myself. The Clarisonic cleanses your skin up to 6 TIMES more than normal cleansing and also increases product absorption!!! Did you hear that? 6 times more!!!! It’s super easy to use… it’s just one button and has only one speed, which gently cleans your pores a million times better than by just using a washcloth or your hands! I think you all know what’s going on your Christmas list this year ladies…..
Here are a few other crucial steps to follow to maintain healthy, clean skin:
-Make sure you remove your makeup first before you cleanse.
-Don’t use thick, heavy makeup that will clog your pores.
-Make sure you wash your sheets/pillow cases at least once a week.
-Wash your makeup brushes regularly.
-Don’t pick at a blemish!
…and last but not least…
-Never sleep with your makeup on.
