The new year always gets me thinking about new clothes. While there aren’t any earth-shattering fashion developments forecast for the year ahead, these are five trends worth trying in 2015.
1. 70’s-Inspired Anything
From bohemian style clothing, to fringe detailing and flare pants, the 70’s are back in a big way. Time to bust out your inner flower child.
2. Hawaiian Florals
While floral patterns are usually a sure sign that spring is on it’s way, this year Hawaiian-inspired florals are taking center stage. Think: subtle – you don’t want to look like you are on your way to a luau… and don’t bust these out until the temperatures start rising. **wink**
3. Tent Dresses
I love these! Airy, comfortable, and flattering to any figure, tent dresses are a must-have for spring and summer.
4. Metallic Textures
From shoes and accessories to maxi dresses, tops and blazers, metallic textures are everywhere. Bring on some shine and instantly update your look. The thought of head-to-toe shimmer giving you palpitations? Go slow. Try a fun metallic bag or statement shoe.
5. Cool Hues and Warm Tones
Pantone’s color of the year is marsala, an earthy wine/red. Get ready for washed out pastels, neutrals, and naturally-inspired color palettes. Minimalist, soothing tones are going to be huge this year.
