I’ve got hearts on the brain!
Call it an occupational hazard.
As a personal shopper, I’ve been spending the last few weeks helping clients find gifts, decorate for parties, and style the perfect date night look for Valentine’s Day. I thought I would share the two gift guides that I created to help spark some creativity for when it’s your turn to play cupid: Valentine Gifts for Him – Valentine Gifts for Her.
Even though I’ve spent the last few weeks neck deep in hearts and doilies, I can’t say that Valentine’s Day is high on my list of favorite holidays (I’m actually not even sure it is a REAL holiday…) However, there is something about the approach of February 14th that has me craving all things red. Blame it on my affinity for all things festive, but despite my wanting to rail on V-day for being nothing more than a Hallmark-manifested, retail money grab – I still can’t help but smile at the hearts in store windows, and the pink and red that brighten up even the dullest of winter landscapes. So rather than be a hater, I’ve decided to embrace the commercialism, because really… what else is there to do in the dead of winter? If nothing else, Valentine’s Day gives us an excuse to get dolled up for a romantic dinner, plan an angry anti-v-day bash, or slap on a pore-clarifying mask, don our grubbiest/comfiest sweats, and wallow through a Chick-Flick Marathon/Ben Jerry’s Binge/Epic Cry Fest.
Truly Valentine’s is a holiday for everyone!
It’s also causing me to develop an affinity for ridiculous handmade greeting cards.

And there’s even a card for that:
So whether you’ll spend the week dropping hints for the gift you’re hoping to receive – or just going out and buying them for yourself – lets make a point to remember that loving ourselves is the greatest gift of all.
